Although Houston is not quite known for its stylish boutique hotels, Hotel Zaza stands out for its upscale themed rooms, hip, slightly Euro pool scene, its luxury spa, and its buzzed about restaurant. The suites are decked out according to theme -- the “rock star” suite, for example, sleeps six in the bedroom “no questions asked,” while the “tycoon” room is outfitted with a full gourmet kitchen and an al fresco soaking tub -- but there are also standard rooms and extended stay options for those in town on long business trips. The pool offers views of the city skyline and is almost Vegas-like with its cabanas, cocktails, service, and music.
Zaza is located right next to the city’s large medical district, historic art district, and Herman Park, which houses both the city zoo and the Museum of Natural Science. And, more vitally, it’s about a five minute drive to Houston’s burgeoning restaurant scene, which includes the new whitehot restaurant Uchi and local veteran and brunch legend Hugo’s.
The Hotel is awesome. Staff was excellent and the room was a luxury dream. The ultimate was the shuttle service to any restaurant in a 5 mile radius.
