What We Love About The Ned London

In 1929, renowned British architect Sir Edwin 'Ned' Lutyens designed the Midland Bank Building in the heart of the City of London. Now completely restored, The Ned reflects the glamour of that era: guest rooms feature hand-finished details and bespoke wallpapers based on original 1920's design, bands perform from the raised stone tellers' desk in the vast banking hall, and the hotel lounge is hidden behind the metre-thick metal door of the bank's vault.

Nine restaurants are available on site with cuisines from around the world. Lutyens Grill, a classic prime cut steak house, is exclusive for Ned's Club members and hotel guests only, so be sure to book in advance. Classic British fare is served along side craft ales and cocktails in Millie's Lounge while the ever popular Cecconi's Northern Italian favorites are not to be missed. There's also American-inspired Malibu Kitchen, Zobler's Delicatessen and The Nickel Bar as well as Parisian Cafe Sou and Asian-Pacific inspired Kaia.

Ned's Club Active has a boxing ring and studios for yoga and pilates, and Ned's Club Relax has hamman, sauna, steam, and spa treatment rooms -- all built around a 20 metre indoor pool.

Walking into the lobby of this hotel is like stepping out of a time machine. Every detail is well thought out. The swimming pool, steam room, sauna, and hammam area are amazing. Every detail has been well considered; they have their own china pattern. It's just amazing. My only complaint is that each room is over designed so too many things in there and not enough places to put your own belongings.

One of my favourite hotels in London! Be sure to listen to / watch the live jazz every evening.
